Asking for email trouble
date posted 15th September 2002 17:37
Hi guys and gals,
I'm testing some allegedly good anti-spam software at the moment and I
want to see how good it really is. Although I don't get much spam in
general (which has always surprised me) the odd bit I do get annoys the
crap out of me. With this in mind I've set up a test mailbox which I'd
like people to forward their spam to. I know I'm asking for a deluge of
crap and that's what I full expect to get.
So next time you receive a spam email please forward it to:
[EMAIL REMOVED]
(where it will be stored for statistical purposes)
and
[EMAIL REMOVED]
(which will scan it and try and decide if it is spam)
If it does think it *is* spam you'll get a permanent failure message and
the mail will be stored in a different mailbox (again for statistical
purposes only).
If everyone on this list sends just one spam email to the two above
addressed (just once please!) I should get a good idea of how
worthwhile this software is.
I'll post the results to the list in due course.
Many thanks
George
