I've been using XP pro and found it incredibly slow and prone to crashes but
it was an HP with all their proprietary b*ll*cks on it. I've had every app
under the sun crash on that, even with 380mb RAM and a 1Ghz processor. Some
of it could've been incompatibilities between XP and older software (PS6)
but...

So I've gone back to win98 and no problems :)

XP Pro is just Win2k with a Toys R Us interface. Turn that off, go back to
regular NTFS security and it's good.

No idea about the home version. Wouldn't touch it.
