Re: FN-FORUM RE: What do you think of our work

date posted 1st November 2002 17:05

I think the peanuts comment was Will saying he's not much of a
designer, so can't really comment on your designs, as it were.

I only had a brief look as I'm also not much of a designer, and
web work isn't my main thing, but FWIW I really *hate* sites that
resize my browser, especially when they make it fill what they think
is my screen - I have a dual monitor set up and it is a total PITA to
get it hijacked by a web site. I know not all of the examples you
posted did this, but a lot did.

I agree with the comments on the "business card" site - very hard to
read at high res, and because it's an image no chance of resizing.

(Nearly?) all the sites look nice, clean, etc. - arguments over Flash
obviously rage, but at least there were HTML alternatives on some of
them. I personally hate pop-ups unless they serve a purpose, so the
fact that I kept getting browsers spawned grated a bit, but that's a
personal prejudice (not as bad as grabbing my screen though!).

Mind, I'm not a designer, so tend to come at this from a techie angle,
not a design angle, and thus probably count as a bit of a luddite :-)

Pete
