RE: FN-FORUM dvd writer
date posted 11th December 2002 10:44
Yippee - I got it to work. It took me 26 mins to record a data disk with
4.23 GB, (4,549,148,672 bytes) and another 12 minutes to verify it.
All I did was upgrade the version of Nero to a more recent edition.
I'm happy with the DVD recorder and can now recommend it.
Not sure who was responsible for putting the disk in the drive before I
got it but I suspect it wasn't the manufacturer - so, I can't recommend
the vendor. But £169 for a DVD writer that takes 26 minutes to write a
DVD is not bad - you could do a lot worse.

Packed in the drive ? A disk was in the drive when you bought it ?
Wouldn't do any damage I don't think. But it sounds like somebodies used
it ?
I've just sent the missus upto Scan to buy the Sony500
and they're out of stock apparently, at least thats the jist
of the expletive packed phonecall I've just had.
Seems there are non available throughout the UK.
Unless somebody knows better ?
Something to do with Sony recalling them to upgrade
the firmware to write at x4.
