Make Internet Explorer Faster, More Capable, and Secure!
NNT's reviewers called Secure IE great, easy-to-use, awesome,
impressive, a total "thumbs up"! Read what they're raving
about and get yours at http://www.secureie.com/p/nnt1/

01. ANTIKEYLOGGER. A number of issues ago, NNT mentioned software that
would log what others have been doing on whatever computer the software is
installed on. Now, there's AntiKeyLogger
at http://www.anti-keyloggers.com that would block installation of such
software on a computer. I suppose it's only a matter of time before we see
software that will block AntiKeyLogger. Are we having fun yet?

02. GOOGLE ANSWERS. For the really hard puzzlers, apparently even Google
has to have outside help. For a fee, starting at $2.50, your most
difficult question will be referred to their pool of more than 500
researchers and 85% of questions are answered within 24 hours. I'm tempted
to try the old "What's the meaning of life?" or "How much wood would a
woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" but I'm afraid it would
cost more than $2.50. Your try if you wish at
https://answers.google.com/answers/main.

03. QUICK SEARCH DESK BAR launches Google, Yahoo and other searches
straight from your desktop taskbar. This utility at
http://notesbydave.com/toolbar/doc.htm is compatible with
Windows95/98/2000/XP and IE 5.5 or higher.

04. LANGTOLANG. Ready for one more translator? Try LangToLang at
http://www.langtolang.com/

. . . . . .

processor or ebook format, plus extra full-length articles in the Neat Net
Tricks fashion of "no screwdriver needed". That's ArchivesExpress and a
new volume will be released in a few days. If you're not a subscriber,
just $20 will assure you of this new volume by quick and easy download, and

. . . . . .

05. HUMAN FOR SALE. Perhaps with tongue in check, the site at
http://www.humanforsale.com/ asks you 30 questions, then calculates your
net worth if you can find someone who's willing to buy.

06. SPEED CHECK. A lot of variables can affect the speed of your broadband
connection, but for a quick-and-dirty calculation, you can try
this. Download a sizable file during nonpeak time, carefully timing in
seconds the time taken. Check the size of the download, in bytes, by
examining the file's properties. Divide the file size in bytes with the
recorded time in seconds, and multiple the results by 10 to determine the
downlink speed in bits per second.

07. VIEWING THE DETAILS. Those icons in Windows Explorer sometimes get in
the way and you'd rather view the details of a folder's contents. Of
course you can click on that option in Explorer's tool bar, but a quicker
way is to right click on an empty portion of the right pane and select View
and Details. Then, if the size of the screen prevent viewing the full
details, simply hold down Ctrl and tap the + key on your numeric keypad.

08. JIGSAW PUZZLE PROMO CREATOR is a novel and entertaining application
that allows creation of promotional jigsaw puzzle games. It produces a
small executable file that displays your advertising banner or logo in the
upper part of the screen along with the jumbled puzzle of a picture, Web
site, or other selected image. The banner can be linked to your Web site
and can be animated if desired. It can then be distributed by email, placed
on a diskette or CD, or exhibited on a Web site. The potential downside to
this is the recipient's understandable reluctance to download .exe files,
notorious for carrying virus. The Jigsaw Puzzle Promo Creator is a free
download at http://tibosoftware.com/jppcreator.htm.

09. FRACTIONS IN WORD. A common fraction such as 1/2 formats nicely in MS
Word, but an unusual fraction, such as 5/9, looks unprofessional. Here's a
workaround that will allow you to format any fraction. It's one of those
that look more complicated than it is. In Word, go to Tools and
AutoCorrect, then select the AutoFormat tab. Uncheck the option "Fractions
1/2 with Fraction character 1/2". Then, in any Word document, press
Ctrl+F9 and bold braces highlighted in gray will appear. Inside these
braces type (without quotes) "eq f(x,y)" and be sure there is a space
between "eq" and "f". For example, if you wanted to construct a formatted
fraction for 5/9, you would enter in the brackets (without quotes) "eq
f(5,9)". While still inside the braces, press Shift+F9 and you will have
a new fraction. So you won't have to go through that process with every
fraction, anticipate those you need and repeat this procedure, but first,
highlight the new fraction, go to Tools|AutoCorrect and the new fraction
will appear in the "Replace With" field. Add it into the field to be
replaced. Then, every time you type, for example, 5/9, it will revert to
the properly formatted fraction.
