BT Connect / Broadband - SMTP Problem

A client for whom we provide web/mail hosting employs consultants who
mostly work 'remotely'. One new guy that they've taken on uses BT
Connect/Broadband and it seems that this is going to cause a problem
sending mail from our client's domain. I understand that BT recently
put a block on SMTP if they aren't hosting the domain (apparently this
is anti-spamming measures, but I suspect it's more to do with revenue!).
Does anyone know about this??
