Not an amazing job, but the company is alright.... May suit some one
who’s short of work and staring at a credit card bill ;-)

The important bit ... Short term Contract - £325 per week.

HTML Programmers with client facing skills

Done some HTML? Want to do more? Are you a confident, pro-active
person with good client skills? Do you have good attention to detail
and can you hit the ground running? If so then Sift may have the
position for you. We are looking for a number of positions, initially
on a 3 months contract basis with the strong possibility of permanent
employment.

We’re looking for confident people that are extremely adaptable to work
in our fast moving, fun environment. You would be working in a team of
5-10 people in an open plan office of around 70 people. Good social
scene including in-house table football and pool table.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to a Project Manager you will be building new web
pages to a pre-determined design and maintaining existing pages across a
wide variety of our communities.
• Work on the implementation of HTML user interfaces for new
modules once development is complete by liasing with technical teams.
• Content conversion into HTML from external sources.
• QA of existing and new sites following test plans and resolving
problems.
• Writing of user and technical documentation for internal and
external clients.
• Ensure cross browser compatibility and be aware of best practice
regarding design.
• Liasing with internal and sometimes external clients.
• Training others to use the content management system.
• Running small projects reporting to Community MD’s.
• Maintaining the company Intranet and ensuring content and
information is up-to-date.

Required Skills

• HTML – Raw HTML ability,
• Knowledge of stylesheets, framesets, javascript, forms and
tables.
• Highly accurate, ability to see pages from a users perspective.
• Able to follow a design brief or detailed requirements
specification.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, be flexible and
pro-active/self-motivated.
• Must have logical approach and troubleshooting skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills a must together
with great team and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of MSOffice – in particular Word and Excel.
• Experience of liasing with clients and prioritising own
workload.
• Quick to learn new skills and willingness to learn from in-house
documentation.
• Common sense and a sense of humour!!

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of Dreamweaver and/or Allaire Homesite
• Knowledge/Understanding of XML, DHTML, Databases
• Any other programming languages
• Lively, outgoing personality
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash
• Technical Authoring/Experience of writing user documentation

Salary

Short term Contract - £325 per week.
