Re: FN-FORUM [OT] Radar Detectors (Was: Design Critique)

date posted 25th January 2003 10:50

My car is a 1.6 litre turbo - it'll do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds and
140mph. This is before any modifications that could push it to over 200bhp.
There are cars out there that have 1.3 litre turbo engines - how low should
the engine capacity for under 25s be?

I think there will always be ways around these rules - my friend had a 50cc
restricted motorbike when he was 16. He spend hours trying to make it go
faster - widening the carburettor jets, removing the baffles from the
exhaust and more. Nobody stopped him from doing that and though it may be
noticed in an MOT test, it didn't matter because after a year, he'd be
passing his driving test and getting a car or a 125cc motorbike.

Dave -Who has had 16 points on his licence over the 10 years he's been
driving and 7 accidents - none of which involved speeding - most involved
just not stopping in time...
