Lotus Elan?

Absolutely. If you want to go to extremes, in the heady days of turbo
F1, BMW used to qualify with a 1.0 litre turbo producing over 1000bhp!
Rather than restriction, I'd say that there should be a more
sophisticated testing scheme in place.
- Driving tests every 10 years, down to every 5 years above the age of
50.
- Much more stringent tests.
- Include motorway driving as a part of the test. So what if people
have to travel to do it, it is currently illegal for a learner driver to
be allowed on the motorway before they've passed their test.
- Advanced driving courses a legal prerequisite for driving a car from
insurance group 10 and above.
- High Performance courses a legal prerequisite for driving a car from
insurance group 15 and above.
Any opinions?
