perhaps because they try to at least inbuild a certain level of security in
them?
its only recently with the advent of 'trustworthy computing' and the various
gripes techies have always had with M$ tech entering the public domain
they've started to get their act together.
plus theres a certain level of honesty in the OSS world that M$ simply
hasn't got the gist of yet - they've fought tooth and nail to let any hole
they find remain secret until they've found a fix, so basically if a script
kiddie finds the vuln before M$ bother to inform you about it you may just
be in the shit. forewarned is forearmed as the saying goes.
so yeah, point the finger at those doing the hacking but don't let the
coders get away with it either.
