Different host to ISP Mail Question

Morning all,

Just a quick question. Do I remember a question & answer from a couple of
weeks ago about someone who owned a domain and had it hosted not with their
ISP (BT Internet/Openworld) but could use the mailservers of their ISP for
no extra charge? If so could someone tell me how this is done please.
