RE: FN-FORUM Illustrator to pdf ?

date posted 29th January 2003 09:57

Out of interest - does the pdf look jaggy if you zoom up on the image? And
does it print without jaggies? Acrobat viewer will display vector art with
jaggies if the screen view is low. if it is for online viewing then
converting to pixel image will give better results.

I tried setting the preferences in distiller so I could print from
illustrator. The results I got were the same: jagged edged lines. No
smooth lines at all. Ya best bet is opeing the file in photoshop using
the place function then saving to pdf thru the photoshop pallet. I tried
it that way before writing and I got perfect results

Hi Bob,

The key to this is in your Distiller preferences file. Set up the
options you require for the final output here, then print from
Illustrator direct to a PDF file.

Try the built in options for screen or for print as a starting point.
They usually give pretty good results.

Best regards,

Ray
