RE: FN-FORUM Different host to ISP Mail Question
date posted 29th January 2003 10:12
I thought one of the answers was that you could get BT to allow SMTP
service to 'off local domain' traffic for a fee. Another idea was for
the user to run an SMTP server of their own - so long as BT leave port
25 open outbound. There were other suggestions but I forget them....
Obviously inbound POP3 or IMAP ought to work as normal.

Subject: FN-FORUM Different host to ISP Mail Question
Morning all,
Just a quick question. Do I remember a question & answer from a couple
of
weeks ago about someone who owned a domain and had it hosted not with
their
ISP (BT Internet/Openworld) but could use the mailservers of their ISP
for
no extra charge? If so could someone tell me how this is done please.
TIA
Regards
