Dunno, sounds like a thing that looks for sites linking to their site. For
search engines etc. Or just a referal thing in his hits.

Tell him to bugger off if he is never likely to give you anymore work.

If he is likely to throw you work then be nice and remove the link, and change
it to a screen shot of the site and a description about your role in the
sites developemnt etc
