Too much competition, especially from those offshore devs that
automatically send reams of information to any email address that
appears on FN. The only real way to get work is through either
marketing yourself really damn well on the internet (and the
competition is fierce), or working existing contacts as hard as you
can, and networking like crazy (through local business schemes etc).
Never got a job on elance, FN, or any of the other schemes that
pop-up, and looking back on it, im pretty glad, most of the jobs that
appear there are badly underpaid.
