Loads up fairly fast on 56k, took its time a little ont he Specials menu,
other than that it loaded up really fast.

Still looks just as stripy. And there's still a white border to the left of
the menu. The menu has a horizontal scroll bar, so you have to scroll right
to read the items, but there's a white border on...

Looking at it with true colour 32bit 1152 x 864 it looks superficially fine.
However, I think that there is insufficient contrast between the purple text
and the darkest part of the graduated purple...

Forgot to say, it is slightly banded on 800x600 in 16 bit colour. Not on
higher res with same colour depth.

he is running his two machines ata low res. I just changed mine to 256

Looks ok (well not banded) on my win2k. The banding is probably caused by
the laptop/desktop only having 256 colour support, probably old/badly
configured graphics cards. Make him change his graphics...

It's not possible to do this on NT based systems via FTP (well not as far as

Hi Paul,
I concur. I brought a Umax 2100U for ?35 over a year ago (reduced price) and
its doing a great job. The software is good at the advanced level and its
relatively quick and quiet.
