Do you have a virus scanner on the box and are you running Index Server at
the same time?

Subject: FN-FORUM: IIS
I AM PULLING MY HAIR OUT WITH MY IIS SERVER
Every so often my IIS packs up. The services are (apparently) running
yet not response on port 80, thus none of my sites will show up.
And the MMC for IIS will not open, no matter if I reboot.
Last two times I've had to reformat and re-install everything, which is
a pain in the rear axle. (Last time I made an image backup on 5 cd's,
only probable is the CDS wont boot) I'd rather sort out the problem if I
can rather than re-imaging the hard drive.
Any advice?
Regards
Gavin
