RE: FN-FORUM: How do u get freelance work when u r 1st starting o ut?

So what's easier to get clients for - design or development.
I is a simple developer and I have little or no artistic bent (not in the
graphic arts, anyway) and it's not always easy getting work. How are the
arty types finding it at the moment?

I had 2 clients when I first started so I split my time between=20
freelancing out at design agencies and building up my own clients. You=20=
can go through agencies and do mac artworking or whatever is required=20 for
=A315-=A320 per hour. I did this for 2 years, I even got a regular = slot=20
at a direct marketing place for 3 days a week which was ideal. Send your=20=
Cv or a nice mailer to all printers, marketing, design and direct mail=20=
agencies and then follow them up.
It's much more cost effective for them to get freelancers in when=20 they're
busy than to employ full time staff who might not be busy all=20 the time.
