RE: FN-FORUM: Monitor Scratch
date posted 24th June 2003 17:39
while on the subject of monitor scratches - the MD for one of clients has
successfully drawn in biro on my laptop screen!
after asking at my local laptop specialist ["sorry mate - nothing you can do
about that, just have to get a new one"] i gave up - but it is now staring
to really bug me, mainly because it resembles a backslash in the middle of
the screen - which is slightly frustrating when coding
tried the fish option, but now my laptop smells a bit odd!
any suggestions / miracle potions etc?

Subject: FN-FORUM: Monitor Scratch
Hi all
I got hold of a cheap second hand monitor (Rus's fault... he got me itching
after one), and when I got it home I realised that it had an abrasion
diagonally down the screen.... it looks kind of like the mark left by sticky
tape over the screen, but it won't clean off, and if you run your fingernail
over the monitor you can feel that it is rough. Other than feeling slightly
foolish, is there anything practical I can do? I have seen some advice
saying car windscreen chip kits are useful for repairing scratched monitors,
but the scratching is so fine I'm not convinced it would work.
Has anyone got any ideas? Sandpaper? A gun?
Ta,
Dan.
