RE: FN-FORUM: advice required
date posted 1st July 2003 15:53
I have used the designer before as well as the developers, the designer
has worked previously with other developers and the developers have
worked with my other designer...however it is only when I brought them
together on this project did I hit an issue. Luckily it's nothing too
serious and the only effect I have been told is the site will probably
take another couple of days to complete.
It's the first time I have experienced this issue and was trying to get
an unbiased view/opinion.
Thanks to you all.

I would just add also that it would not be unreasonable to ask the
developers to write down their requirements for you, so that you can
send
that to the designer, as well as be aware of the usual requirements for
the
future.
The designer should really fall in line with the developers in this case
as
he is the newest link in the chain, and (I assume) you have been happy
so
far with the speed and accuracy of the developers before this problem.

I expect that with something like this the designer is not supplying the
text layers as editable version but is instead flattening the =
layers=3D20
together...
Having sat on both sides of the fence in the past I'd expect that
this=3D20
is the case... and text in Photoshop which will become a graphic =
is=3D20
almost always bound to change and thusly needs to be kept as a text
layer.
Hope this helps
George
