I've never had a business line from BT (or indeed Telecom NZ). BT are
quite happy for a business to pay for a residential line - I did this so
the company name was on the invoice.

Can't see how it's illegal - it could breach their T&C's I suppose, but
they can't throw you in jail for that (can they?). I'd bet it's an over
enthusiastic rep...

(or they've got it confused with showing pay-TV channels in a public
environment, which *is* considered rather naughty!)

Not an expert tho...
