FN-FORUM: CSS differences inIE/Moz/Opera
date posted 2nd January 2004 15:20
For the past couple of months I've been learning about CSS - the
attached url is an example of where I am to date - OK I know it includes
some horrors such as Javascript and DHTML but I'm moving in the right
direction - honest!
http://www.paulwest.net/beta2/home2.htm
The main CSS file is here http://www.paulwest.net/beta2/css/beta2.css
and the navigation CSS here
http://www.paulwest.net/beta2/css/slide-menu.css
I've currently got several problems when NOT viewng it in IE6/XP - it
works fine there! The original issue was when someone viewed it in IE5!
Specifically in Mozilla the "header" (Paul West - Introduction) above
the "rightcolumn" (lorem etc etc) should be the same size text but it's
smaller!
With Opera 7 the line spacing on the navigation seems to have increased
so it no longer matches the "wrapper" - which stays the same size
(hooray!) but now the "rightcolumn" has a horizontal as well as vertical
scrollbars - doh! Oh yes and the "header" text is smaller again.
I've managed to solve some problems already but I'm stumped here - all
help gratefully received.
Oh and a very happy new year to all!
Paul West
