FN-FORUM: [OT] Got a bargain Joystick at the weekend!
date posted 5th January 2004 13:26
I found myself in Dixons at the weekend, while out shopping with the wife
and her sister.
I had been looking for a new Joystick after getting MS Flight Simulator
2004 bundled with my new laptop. I wanted one with a forcefeedback feature
but couyldn't really afford it.
Anyway I saw the sidewinder forcefeedback 2 (rrp £80) on a shelf with a
label saying it was a Sidewinder Pro (none forcefeedback - rrp £40).
Checked the price at the till and wound up getting a forcefeedack 2 for
half price!
I think Dixons got mixed up when they bought the stock in. Talk about
January sales!
Anyone else think of similar examples of this? Remeber that Kodak digital
camera fiasco?
And for anyone designing a store front:
Always check your list prices against the rrp keyed against the barcode,
and throw a warning at data entry time if they differ by more than a certain
percentage!
