I know people aren't rational, so this might not hold true, but if I
was writing a system that I wanted to timebomb in the event of my
demise/being shafted then I'd apply all of the normal security
features that you can in the first place, not least to make it harder
to examine the code and see if I had put something sneaky in.
So, given that the DB doesn't even have a general open password, let
alone Access security enabled, or shift-bypass circumvented, hasn't
been compiled to an MDE to prevent viewing of the source etc. etc. I'd
say it's, subjectively, highly unlikely that the ex-director has put
in a lock-out, and if he has, it should be a piece of cake to
circumvent.
But I'd want to examine the thing thoroughly making a definitive
professional opinion ;-)
