Re: FN-FORUM: Exchange 2003 server deployment telnet problem

Internet Mail Connector. The Internet mail (SMTP) component of Exchange 4.0.
Mostly became IMS (Service) in Exchange 5.x. Doesn't really exist any more
in 2k or 2k3, it uses the SMTP service instead.
To check SMTP is running, look in services for MS SMTP service (not with the
rest of the Exchange services in the list).
What does it say in the event log (application log?) Is there a packet
filter or protocol rule preventing access on port 25?
Try the Exchange support centre at support.microsoft.com
Look at this set or articles for E2k (the basics are the same for E2k3) and
check that it has been installed correctly.
