Re: FN-FORUM: help with grammar please

People doesn't have an s of its own on the end (ie it means children of
people, not children of peoples), so the apostrophe goes before the s.
Children is a plural even though it doesn't have an s the end, so again, the
apostrophe goes before the s (faeces of children, not faeces of childrens).
See http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/grammar/g_apost.html
BTW, If you want a proofreading service, I do one ;-)
But I agree with the rephrasing.
You don't know what you've started...

Subject: FN-FORUM: help with grammar please
Hi all,
I know that there are some grammar gurus out there.. can anyone tell me how
the apostrophes should go in this sentence?
I cannot force my neighbours to buy a bin and use it, and I can see no
reason
whatsoever why I should be compelled to mop up other peoples' childrens'
faeces.
Is that right? or should it be peoples'children' faeces.
thanx
Carrie
