FN-FORUM: Apache (1.3) no longer parsing PHP(4) files
date posted 16th January 2004 18:05
Hi,
I've had a bizarre problem with apache suddenly stopping parsing PHP
i.e. it does find the file, but just displays the php code instead of
processing it.
It has been working for awhile before, just stopped overnight for some
reason :(
I've spent the afternoon checking through the httpd.conf, logs and wot
not and have had no luck. I've also search google but not had a great
deal of luck - a couple of leads but were really more to do with the
initial setup.
Have also restarted apache but it was exactly the same after.
As far as I can tell we've not been hacked - nothing unexpected comes up
when you last, ps -aex, or top. Why anyone would hack into the machine
to just disable php though is beyond me.
So I'm pretty much at the stage of drawing blanks.
We've got a 1&1 Ensim root server, running apache 1.3 and php 4.
Will also post to http://oneAndOneServer.co.uk .
Virtual chocolate bars anyone ;) Would really appreciate any help,
hints, or ideas.
Tvm
Ian
