FN-FORUM: Thunderbird mail strangeness

I'm running Thunderbird mail client v0.3 and it's gone strange today.
There were a few undeleteable messages in the trash and after shutting
down/restarting etc to try to clear them, I thought I'd run the 'compact
folders' option. I have now ended up with a copy of every email, plus a
blank mail with the same subject line as every email - highly annoying!

Has anyone come across this, or know how to sort it out?

BTW v0.4 is now out for those of you who care ;-)
