FN-FORUM: Web page names - do you need an extension?

I have tried a web shortcut on Linux/Apache server which works fine for me..
eg "www.domain.com/page" which redirects to "www.domain.com/actual_page.php"

Will this foul up on other browsers, anyone know? Or does Apache sort it out regardless.
