FN-FORUM: Help! Strange XP Performance Problem

Hello all,

Anyone got any idea what could be causing this problem:

- Every 5 minutes or so, the performance of my PC will grind to a halt.
Looking at task manager (which taken ages to appear) reveals that the
page file usage has shot up to over 1GB. Then, with no warning, the page
file usage will drop down again and all will be OK. Until the next 5
mins goes past that is and the cycle starts again.

So, how can I tell what is suddenly causing the PF usage to increase?
