I can't decide whether this is due to (a) ignorance/incompetence of the
patent examiner; (b) time constraints, i.e. the examiner not having the time
to understand the patent and its scope or (c) is the US deliberately passing
any patent that gives US industry a competitive advantage over the other
countries industry (to support this idea, consider that the CIA spend a good
deal of time involved in industrial espionage for the benefit of US
industry).

What do people think?

Before you come to a quick conclusion ponder this - this silly patents all
seem to originate from the US.
