RE: FN-FORUM: Portal Info
date posted 1st April 2004 14:02
John,
I'm currently doing a similar kind of thing.
I've decided on PHP-Nuke (http://www.phpnuke.org) with a couple of
addons like Coppermine.
It uses themes, and there are hundreds of them available out there, so
why not either use on for inspiration, or rob one :>
Personally, I've got a friend of mine designing a logo for the site, and
once he's done that I'll rob a theme (publicly available BTW).
Enough to think about?
Leigh

Subject: FN-FORUM: Portal Info
Morning all
I'm spending a bit more time over the next few weeks getting my old
portal site up and running which I let go a few years back and never got
off the development floor.
Anyhow I just want some advice "free if possible! ;)". In regard to
layout and design what works and what doesn't work. Also what back end
are you using? Mainly goes to the guys and gals who are running similar
sites.
Thanks all
John
