RE: FN-FORUM: Why????
date posted 1st May 2004 21:20
Danny - my "if you don't like the heat" comment was based on the fact
that, in my view having been on the forum for some time, there are some
strong opinions stated but there's nothing wrong with that and I think
it should be encouraged.
It's not so much "if you don't like the heat" - more "take the rough
with the smooth"
I'll be the first to admit - and probably not the last - that in no way
am I a complete expert on everything internet and find the forum
exceptionally useful and as such have no right to be an arrogant
arsehole. I may state my case strongly sometimes when I feel strongly
about something - but then everyone does.
I've had great help from Tony, Neelesh, Richard, Andrew, Luke - to name
a few. But also I (and everyone else) should be able to make a point
vigorously if we need to.
Tony has asked you to come up with posts as evidence - which you have
singularly failed to do. You accuse some/most/all (depending on how far
you're backtracking) of being arrogant arseholes yet are not prepared to
name names or prove the point. You say you don't want to libel anyone -
but how can you when all you have to do is re-post the original
offending posts. If you don't have them then have a look in the archive
on the freelancers site - they're all there.
From what I can tell, you're the one being both an arsehole and a coward
- an arsehole for your first and subsequent posts and a coward for not
putting your "money where your mouth is."
If you've got nothing better to do than come on here and criticise forum
members then you should stay away.
And we're all very busy at the moment so the "I've got lots of work cuz
I'm friendly" argument just doesn't stick. Having played pool and got
drunk with some of the guys on the forum I can tell you they're good,
friendly guys and all busy.
It's very rare that I get riled up like this - so I'll be a bit plainer
than I was earlier..
If you don't like the tone of the forum then F**K OFF.
Another 2p.
Dominic
