direct link for those who won't read the list today and won't understand
what I am about to say.
I worked for a young company full of spirit and vitality and as young
foolish people with little business sence we changed our on hold music
to the best of the pixies.
Someone who was very important to the company (holding the purse strings
to a multinational company who make cars lots of us drive) was put on
hold while we argued who was going to take this very important call
(lots of not me's as the office was full of techies who hated doing this
sort of stuff and the boss (another techie) was out of the office).
When I finally took the call he said "your on hold music has just called
me the 'Son of a motherf**ker'!"
Nimrod Son - The Pixies.
It was pretty lucky he saw the funny side of it but I almost died. We
changed the music that day to something boringly inoffensive ;-)

everytime I hear (or see in this case) the word nimrod in a business
environment (at the time lots because we also developed control software
that tested components on the nimrod aircraft based on an aircraft that
spent much of it's time crashing so it would have been an embaressment
to lose even one of these) I cracked a smile. This is the first time it
a long time I nimrod and business have been linked but I just cracked up ;-)
