You are right. However, we're not putting down the=20
competition, we're talking about teenagers with five
dollar a month hosting accounts.
I thought I'd share with the list this mail I wrote to someone=20
recently after he'd called my quote a "rip-off". (The same quote
that had one of my partners ringing up complaining that I shouldn't
be wasting my time with such small jobs!)

I'm sorry if you feel that that is too expensive but I can assure=20
you that that is the minimum I can charge for the amount of time=20
that a job like this inevitably takes.
If you want to do it yourself and you are new to HTML, PHP and=20
CSS you have a long learning curve ahead of you.
If on the other hand you want it done cheaply then you may be=20
able to find someone to do it who lives somewhere with a much=20
lower cost of living, like India, or their parents' house. =20
In the first case you may find it difficult to communicate exactly=20
what your requirements are. In the second case you may find it=20
difficult to find someone that can provide a professional service.
You can post a job description at www.freelancers.net, although
I recommend that you give an indication of the maximum amount you=20
are prepared to pay.
regards
Dom
