Nope - it's a remake, not a sequel.

Personally I do think some of the plot has become infinitely more
believable than the original.. And we no longer have that strange bloke
sitting in the middle of a room on a pedastal with a giant ball of
wirewool on his head (WTH was that, anyway? :)).. Which can only be a
good thing ;)
