I have to say I was slightly surprised that you had it set on PPPoE as
I thought that didn't work in the UK but I'm by no means an expert on
network protocols so I kept my mouth shut as it was 'working' so ...
I think - IIRC - a certain level of dropped packets is acceptable and
par for the course. There's a error detection in the protocol so lost
data simply gets sent again. I just looked at my stats in the Network
Utility and out of 118000 odd packets received, 0 errors but 247
collisions. Not sure of the time frame - probably since I booted up
mid afternoon at a guess.
Anyway, it's easy to become a bit of a digital hypochondriac, so I'd
say as long as it's working, you're not suffering data corruption -
don't worry about it.
