Re: FN-FORUM: Mac vs Linux advice?

Thanks Dave, some really persuasive words. Helpful background info as
well. The added remarks from Luke and Chris are, of course,
appreciated as well. :-)
Paul, are they words from a past/present Mac user? Would really like
to hear from someone who has experience with both Linux and Mac's to
compare? Especially on laptops.
Dave's link proves the vast amount of software out there for the Mac.
It seems that what Mac does, it does well and the things that it
doesn't do, I can't see a present need for. So the Mac looks like the
best (but expensive) option. Seems that the actual laptop wouldn't be
much more expensive than a similar spec PC laptop, but software looks
like a killer.
The PC laptop I like the look of is the 12.1" wide-screen that is
being re-branded by loads of companies (Alienware, Tatnung,
LinuxCertified etc). I know someone with a Toshiba, and they're happy
with it, but you folks all seem happy with your Macs.
Thanks for all your comments.
Regards,
Joe.
