FN-FORUM: PS special print effects

I am working on a print job that requires a touch of special effects,
something that will set an image as a background and have it faded (tinted
almost as a solid colour) and have looking 3d (sticking out from the paper
type of look (small order I know), are there any tips out so I can create
this effect?
