sorry Joe - but ask yourself this question:

What does the blue represent?

i.e. how is it supposed to fit in with 'bitroot' ?

you've got a good name, but the imagery has absolutely nothing to do
with it.

IMHO you would have a much stronger site, and overall image, if you
used imagery that tied in better to your name, or at least meant
something.

this is why you are finding yourself messing about with colors trying
to make it look right. you *know* something is wrong on a deeper level
- so you are adding new elements trying to fix it.

IMHO scrap the image altogether and maybe find something that fits in
better with the theme of your company.

and if you don't know what the theme is yet, go find it! as that will
lead onto a stronger concept all round.
