I've left it on for a few hours and it seems to have picked up a bit

It's getting past the initial boot, but asking for a system disk now.
If it isn't the m'board I think a format C might be a good idea
anyway. It's Ben's machine, probably full of teenage clutter, and
could do with an upgrade from W98 TBH.
