Hi Joe,
As I have just replied to another kind person, phrased my question
incorrectly, A friend said something about a new super chip, and
wondered if anyone else had heard anything?

Did you have a look on Intel's website? I did!
Here's what I found out:
Fastest desktop processor: Pentium 4 Processor Extreme Edition
supporting Hyper-Threading Technology goes up to 3.46GHz.
I would guess that to be the fastest, though maybe someone with more
knowledge will prove otherwise. I guess you could even over-clock it
to get even more juice out of it.
You can also get a 3.6GHz Intel Xeon processor (for servers).
For more info:

cts_processors&
Is this what you wanted to know?
Kind regards, Joe.
