Yes, I would dearly love to find it, rather than repeated assertions
that it is true. On the other hand, I have found a page dedicated
to "Tissue Culture Propagation of Aquatic Plants":
http://www.aquabotanic.com/stiffaquatic.htm
which recommends microwaving water as a way of sterilising it.
Presumably if microwaved water was in some way detrimental=20
to plant growth, they would not give this advice.
