I agree in principle with some of the points he makes, but he completely
fails to balance his argument.
He is talking solely about convenience for the developer and appears to
think that the only reason for changing is some purely theoretical
design/content division. I saw no mention at all (admittedly scan-read
a few paragraphs) of SEO, bandwidth, accessibility or any of the other
benefits available by removing table soup.
If you are an amateur designer with no concern for site promotion or
your users' convenience or if you are a cowby looking for sign-off at
minimal cost, then his points are 100% on the nail, if you are a
professional developer looking to deliver value to your clients and to
their customers, it is highly simplistic and naive.
