Nah, you can compile them all into one dll and stick 'em in the same /bin/.
I'm a bit tired/distracted by the Channel 4 program about coma, but if I'm
understanding you correctly, the app.config files need to be in the root of
each "website" (like - virtual directory, yeah?). That is, they have to be
there if they're going to do things like control security and
authentication. If you just need connection settings etc., I find it
convenient to put all those in an /includes/ directory and call them
myblahblahapp.inc - a tip I learnt from Julian (thanks Jules, wherever you
are!)
