FN-FORUM: Volume icon in task bar (Win XP)

A few days ago the volume icon in the task bar disapeared. No big deal
I though, I know how to turn it back on. But everytime I boot up, it is
gone again. I did some googling and some people suggested re-installing
the sound drivers but this had no effect.

Anyone any ideas?

I'm running Win XP SP1.
