Have you thought about going for some kind of paid placement inside an
existing employer, you would probably find it a lot easier to pick up
English speaking skills in that kind of environment instead of being
directly competitive as an individual freelancer - which in my books is
frequently lonely and primarily about your existing presentation and
communication skills.
Talk to your local Chamber of Commerce about networking events.
