FN-FORUM: Any freelance .Net developers here in the Gloucestershire or South West Midlands Area?
date posted 2nd August 2005 15:19
Afternoon all,
We might need the occasional services of a competent and presentable
freelance .Net (pref C#) developer in the Gloucestershire or South West
Midlands area.
We are launching a new business around a CMS product that we have
developed and ideally I am looking for another me (but with slightly
better programming skills!!) to work with us and get more involved over
time.
Ideally the individual will need to be familiar with all aspects of web
development being able to work from a design in Photoshop taking it
through to a finished data driven site.
Experience with developing to XHTML and Accessibility standards would
be beneficial as well as experience of XML/XSLT. Also a broad
experience of corporate systems and structures and project management
would also be helpful.
Initially you would be required for planning meetings with our clients
and then taking up the development slack when things get busy.
The development work would mainly be customisation or additions to an
existing CMS product and is something that we hope will build over
time. The sort of thing to expect would be; creating XSLT templates
based on an HTML design and the XML feed, developing an interface
between our existing CMS software and a client's bespoke systems, etc.
At the moment I am mainly after the comfort factor knowing that there
is someone around we can call in when required, but over time I would
expect the involvement to grow quite considerably.
At the moment it is quite important that the chosen person is in the
Gloucestershire/South West Midlands area since this is where most of
the initial meetings will be and it will just make life easier. We
have tried working with others further afield over the phone and the
web and it just doesn't work well enough for us - sorry.
It is also important that we find a freelancer rather than someone who
is already part of a larger business - we expect the amount of work to
grow slowly, but it could ultimately end up as a full time contract.
If any of you here are interested or know of anyone that might fit the
bill, please either email me to [EMAIL REMOVED] or call me on 07971
540362.
