Personally I wouldn=92t go for Skype I would go for a SIP bases system =
using
one of the many Voip providers around today offering some great =
services.=20

You can connect in a number of ways.

1 Software based like skype, there is a number of packages my preferred =
is
one you pay for called Eyeball about 40 squid or so, with up to 6
independent lines, video and great call quality it=92s worth the money. =
There
is also a free app from the same makers called X-lite from
http://www.xten.com

2. Hardware based, Sipura 2000/3000 is a great adaptor to connect your
normal phone to, you don=92t even need to know your using Voip.

There are loads of other pieces of hardware so the choice is great.

As for providers, I have to say after switching from Gossiptel to
www.VOIPfone.co.uk I have been mightily impressed. Monthly I pay about =
=A36,
=A35 for 500 mins of outgoing call credit to most landline destinations =
in the
world and =A31 to have a inner London 0207 number routed to the phone, =
you can
pay more and get extras like =A31 for fax to email, =A31 for additional =
lines.
They even provide a virtual PBX where you can have a number of accounts =
off
1 number and program who gets the calls and can transfer between each =
other
with multiple incoming numbers of you want.

Asterisk is a open source PBX system that can be used with many voip =
systems
but is mainly used for SIP based systems to offer PBX services.
