FN-FORUM: Urgent Director Help - Couple of hours paid work

Morning All

I am putting together a CD Rom in Director, something very simple. But I
have hit a point where I can't get it any further :(

What I want to do is check whether word is installed, if not then use the
word viewer on the CD. The same goes for Powerpoint.

I can get it to use the applications off the CD fine using open "filename"
with "application" but I can't figure out what else if statement to use to
see if the application is installed if not then use the version on the CD.

I have googled for hours but the only way I can see of doing it is via the
buddy api xtra. Buying this would mean it cost me to do there CD though.

Can anyone give me some assistance with the lingo? Would be happy to provide
all resources if some could do it for me, alternatively if you can supply a
snippet of code that would be appreciated.

Need it doing this morning though and can pay £20 per hour, or a fee for the
working snippet.
